By understanding and technically implementing what nature has told us about integrated exoskeletons, hard-shell components and complex multidirectional joint areas, we are now able to offer deformation-resistant protective systems that are highly flexible and freely movable. This is possible without having to compromise on the protective function, the protective surface, freedom of movement, ergonomics, comfort and function for the user. If we look at arthropods, instead of an inner skeleton (endoskeleton), we see a stabilizing hard-shelled outer skeleton (exoskeleton). This provides protection for the vital area of these creatures – for many millions of years. These exoskeletons teach us a lot about modern body protection. The bodies of these creatures are almost completely surrounded by a hard-shell armor; nevertheless, they are highly mobile due to segmented components in the joint areas of the exoskeleton.
